About
Sara Waber is a New York City born and bred content producer with hands on experience as a videographer, editor, producer, director, and social media strategist. Sara is fully committed to developing innovative digital content that engages and inspires viewers.
In 2012, Sara co-created the feminist YouTube channel TheeKatsMeoww with Kat Lazo. Their mission was to challenge societal norms through accessible video content that covered issues like street harassment, beauty standards, and racism. The videos received praise from media outlets like Buzzfeed, Upworthy, and Bustle. Their first video concept garnered attention from UbyKotex that led to a campaign collaboration.
In 2014, Sara shifted gears and co-founded Play Too Much with Chris Pizzolo. The NYC based music blog gave a platform to emerging musicians through session videos, original podcasts, live events and daily features. The duo produced over 100 session videos, introducing viewers to buzz-worthy artists like Diet Cig, Jojo Abot, Michael Blume and so many more! In 2017, they produced a music documentary podcast called How Hits Made that debuted on iTunes Top 30 music podcast charts. They worked with brands like Tortoise & Blonde, Sixpoint Brewery, U-Turn Audio, Tascam and more.
While running the site, Sara worked as a freelance social media manager and consultant for clients like Pilgrimage Music Festival (Justin Timberlake, Eddie Vedder, Beck), award winning fine art photography book InstrumentHead and Steve Jordan's record label, JayVee Records. Sara did everything from creating content calendars and email newsletters to managing day-to-day activity on social media accounts.
In 2017, Sara was recruited as interim Director of Video at world renowned book publisher Simon & Schuster. In a short time, Sara brought a lot of valued improvements to the department. She pitched new serialized content ideas and advised on equipment upgrades for the studio which elevated the company's video programming.
Currently, Sara works as the Associate Director of Video at Simon and Schuster, managing all video creation for the company. She has successfully launched multiple series from pitch to completion. She is also an adjunct professor, teaching a Workshop in Video Editing course at NYU.
